Most of what a web page does is ask the site for data and draw it. Proxy can learn that conversation. Ask an agent to start recording, do the task yourself in a Proxy tab (check your inbox, run a search, open a report), and ask it to stop and turn the recording into a capability.
What comes back is a draft: a name, the inputs it takes, and what it returns. Check it, change what you like, and save it. From then on it's a tool of its own that every agent can call. It asks the site for the answer the same way the page did, from inside your logged-in session, so it holds up when the page's layout changes, and it falls back to the steps you recorded if that ever fails.
Your passwords and tokens never make it into a recording. They're taken out as each request is captured, before anything is written down, and filled back in from the live session only when the capability runs. A capability that changes something, like posting or sending, is marked as one, and never repeats a request that already went through.
Capabilities are what the buttons in a reply and the points on a chart run. One can also name the page that shows its result, the post it just made say, so a button can take you straight there. Teach Proxy a site in five minutes goes step by step.
